# SofaCode

> SofaCode is a remote control for the AI coding agent already running in VS Code on your own computer — Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Chat or OpenAI Codex — from an iPhone, an Android phone or tablet, an Android TV, a watch, or the SofaNode desk device. Push-to-talk dictation, one-tap approve/deny of permission prompts, a live transcript with the agent's task list, a file browser and code editor, a terminal, text-to-speech replies. Nothing routes through a server: the app talks to a small daemon on your machine over your own network, and optional remote access (off by default) reaches it through a Cloudflare tunnel or pinned TLS. - Apps: Android 8.0+ (Google Play, also runs on Android TV in the same build) and iOS 16+ (App Store, iPhone and iPad). Both stores ship the same version at the same time. Apple Watch and Wear OS clients are on the way.
- Desktop half: a free Python daemon plus a VS Code extension, installed with one command on macOS, Linux (including Raspberry Pi / arm64) and Windows. Pairing is a QR code or an 8-digit code, on your own network only.
- Editors: VS Code (shipping), plus Cursor, VS Code Insiders, VSCodium, Devin Desktop and Antigravity in beta. Copilot Chat features exist only where Copilot Chat runs (VS Code and Insiders).
- Assistants: Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Chat, OpenAI Codex — your own subscriptions, not included. Local models (LM Studio, Ollama, any OpenAI-compatible server) through the extension's Local LLM mode (beta) for Copilot Chat.
- Price: one subscription for every device and machine, $5/month or $50/year (US; stores show local prices), 1-week free trial for new subscribers, billed and canceled through Google Play or the App Store. Reading the deck, sessions and transcripts is free; actions that make the computer do something need the plan.
- SofaNode: an optional $99 round-screen desk device (ESP32-S3, 240x240 touch LCD, mic + speaker, USB-C), free shipping, 14-day returns, never needs a subscription, 3 months of SofaCode included; firmware updates itself over the air.
- Support is fast and human: bug reports and feature requests are read by the people who build it, replies usually within the hour and the same day at the latest, most fixes ship within days. Ask before leaving a review.
- Privacy: no accounts, no relay servers; every outbound host is named in the privacy policy.
