§ Legal
Terms & Privacy
Last updated 16 August 2026
SofaCode is an independent product of BOT-HOLDINGS, LLC ("we", "us"), operated under the CODEDATDA.CASA studio name. By installing or using the SofaCode app, daemon, or VS Code extension, or by contacting us through this site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the software.
1. What SofaCode is
SofaCode is a remote control. The app on your phone or watch talks to a small daemon and a VS Code extension running on your own computer, which relay your voice, taps and messages to Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Chat or OpenAI Codex. SofaCode is not the coding assistant itself and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, GitHub, Microsoft, or Visual Studio Code. Those are trademarks of their respective owners. You need your own subscription to Claude Code or GitHub Copilot Chat or OpenAI Codex; that subscription and its terms are between you and that provider.
2. Your data & privacy
SofaCode is designed so that your code and sessions never route through a server we control. The app connects directly to the daemon on your machine over your own local network (or your own VPN / mesh network). We don't operate a relay, we don't receive your prompts, code, terminal output or session content, and we can't see them.
The only information we receive is what you deliberately send us:
- Website forms. If you submit the early-access, contact, or bug-report form, we receive the email address and details you enter. A bug report may include a debug log file you choose to attach — you control what's in it (see §3). These reach us by email at [email protected] and are used only to reply to you and improve the product. We don't sell them, and we don't add you to any list beyond the single notification you asked for.
- Update checks. The daemon may check our download server for a newer version. That request reveals only what any download does (your IP and the version you're on); it carries none of your session content.
Requests for deletion of anything you've emailed us can be sent to [email protected].
3. Debug logs
The app can record a debug log when you turn the feature on, so you can attach it to a bug report. Logs are stored on your device and are never uploaded automatically — they leave your device only if you attach one to the bug form. Logs are meant to capture app behavior and errors; review a log before sending it, and avoid pasting secrets into the app while logging is on.
4. Payments & trial
Use of the assistant features requires a subscription ($5/month or $50/year, subject to change), purchased through the app store. New subscribers receive a one-week free trial, enforced by the store; cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged. Direct-download builds distributed outside the app stores may instead include a limited free trial measured in chat interactions. The app store's refund and subscription terms apply to store purchases.
5. SofaNode hardware
SofaNode devices are sold by BOT-HOLDINGS, LLC at the price shown on the order page, shipped free worldwide. Returns: within 14 days of delivery, in original condition; email [email protected] for the return address and your refund is issued to the original payment method when the device arrives back. Warranty: 1 month from delivery against manufacturing defects — a defective unit is repaired or replaced at our choice. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, modification, or reflashing with firmware other than ours, and is in addition to any rights your local consumer law gives you that cannot be waived. The bundled subscription: each SofaNode includes a one-time subscription code for six months of SofaCode, redeemed through Google Play or the Apple App Store, subject to that store's terms; codes have no cash value, one code is redeemable per store account, and a refunded device order voids any unredeemed code from it.
6. Beta software
Pre-release builds are provided "as is" and may be incomplete or unstable. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. Don't rely on SofaCode for anything safety-critical.
7. Acceptable use
Use SofaCode only with machines and accounts you're authorized to control. Don't use it to break the terms of Claude Code, GitHub Copilot Chat, OpenAI Codex, or any system you connect it to, and don't attempt to attack or abuse the software or our infrastructure.
8. Software warranty & liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the software is provided without warranties of any kind, and BOT-HOLDINGS, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of it. Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions, so parts may not apply to you.
